6 30-minute episodes

House Party is a Comedy Network original and an original sitcom. This six-part half-hour comedy takes place during a 12-hour long house party gone totally out of control. Each episode follows a different character although the series opens and ends with an episode focused on Adam, the main character. This situation comedy will premiere 11/12/08 at 10 P.M. and the second episode will air right after the premiere.

When Adam’s parents go away for the weekend, the 20-year-old student decides to use the occasion to have a house party so he can touch base with Megan, a girl he’s always had a thing for in high school. His friend Eric invites a few people more and they invite a few people more and the party becomes an out of control monster.

Each of the six episodes gives a different character’s version of what happens at the party with Adam serving as the story arc. These characters include Eric, Adam’s best friend; Allison, the girl in charge of getting Megan to the party; Mandy, the girl nobody remembers from high school; and Megan, the girl Adam has the hots for.

House Party is original and has a style all its own, from the formula right down to the avocado kitchen and harvest gold appliances. The story also occasionally flash-forward’s to a 2-second bit that contradicts what one of the characters is saying. The all hand-held camera concept, something that can sometimes make a viewer seasick, works here, giving the show a nervous energy that makes up for the lighting problems that are automatic with such a method.

Watch for the two young nerds who pop up from time to time.

There are a couple of scenes in House Party that feel like they belong more in one of those low budget tax-break Canadian movies from the seventies. Otherwise, House Party is fun to watch.
