The 24 episodes on this 4 disc sitcom DVD set prove Two and a Half Men still has it six years later. Maybe it’s just me but isn’t the humor in Two and a Half Men is getting a little raunchier each year Jake gets older? This is still prime time situation comedy raunchy humor but I am pretty sure a “good Christian home” parent might be uncomfortable explaining some of the innuendoes in certain episodes of this sitcom. Not that I care, they are very funny.
One of the many strengths of this sitcom is because normal kid Jake (Angus T. Jones) is growing up, the show also evolves. Charlie (Sheen) and Allan (Jon Cryer) have not changed that much since the beginning of Two and a Half Men. Charlie is still a ladies’ man and Allan is still a whipped divorced guy. However, both Sheen and Cryer keep their character fresh and the sibling rivalry funny.
There are many really good episodes in Two and a Half Men Season Six. I really liked the episode where Charlie believes he may have fathered a child. Not only is the storyline superior to most such situation comedy plots, the joke of picturing other illegitimate children showing up unannounced is really funny. The grown-up Jake parade at Judith’s when Allan believes he may have impregnated his ex (episode 7).
A minor ongoing story line in season 6 involving Judith (Marin Hinkle)and her second husband (Ryan Stiles of Drew Carey and Whose Line) finds its culmination at the end with Allan almost being a new father. Charlie may have a real relationship going this season. No Two and a Half Men would be complete without Rose so she shows up from time to time. Allan also gets a romantic interest of his own for a while.
Special features on the Two and a Half Men Season 6 DVD set are a gag reel, a short on the women in the series, and a look at Jake growing up.
