Twenty Twelve is a BBC The Office-ey comedy starring, as someone who was watching the pilot with me said, “A bunch of Brits who mumble and can't act.” It premieres Sunday June 17th at 9 PM on The Comedy Network. Season One of Twenty Twelve features six episodes
The premise is interesting enough. The 2012 London Olympics Deliverance Committee is 1,000 days away from the opening of the games. Their mission is to make sure everything is ready and working in time. Watching this crew, nobody would bet on that happening.
Boss Ian Fletcher (Hugh Bonneville), the only sane one in the bunch is saddled with a traffic expert whose first efforts make the committee's first big press conference a total failure; Siobhan, a PR lady who does not actually say anything when she speaks, another guy whose role is not quite clear, and a woman in charge of deciding what will happen to facilities after the olympics but is all talk.
Twenty Twelve is a British sitcom that did not cross the pond very well. Unless you are a Brit, the only character you fully understand is the narrator. You have to guess at what people are saying in pretty much every scene.
