The Comedy Network presents Steve Byrne The Byrne Identity July 28th at 9 pm. This is a must see show. Byrne is an original and the show features two of the most original routines I have seen in a while.
One is on musical stereotypes, as in what kind of person listens to classical, country, etc. The matches are rather obvious, old white men and classical or single Black women and rhythm and blues, but Byrne has a way of telling it that makes it all funny and interesting.
The closing bit which involves audience participation is also quite enjoyable. Audience participation bits are often banal or boring but Byrne gets 5 guys to perform a boy's band video like dance for a lucky female audience member. It is impossible not to laugh and enjoy this bit.
Other solid moments in Steve Byrne The Byrne Identity include a bit on China and other cultures and a bit on Cougars.
Other Steve Byrne Reviews
Champion: overall a solid mp3 album but its scope in terms of tone leaves the listener feeling off-kilter.
