Bounty Hunters is a riot. The animated adventures of Blue Collar comics Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy are simply must see and must record. The writing is top notch and the gags both visual and verbal are funny and original. Bounty Hunters airs Wednesdays at 10 on Comedy Network starting July 17.
Jeff Foxworthy voices Jeff, a divorced dad who just opened a bounty hunter outfit with his pals Larry and Bill. Bill is married to woman played by and cartooned like Lisa Lampanelli. Their first bounty is a Frenchman “maybe he'll just surrender” shoplifter. A great like is “Gumbo without sausage is like a front lawn without a couch”. There are some great sight gags involved so pay attention to the backgrounds.
Episode 2 has the boys chasing a guy from Joisey in a redneck amusement park. “When each parking lot section is named after an Oak Ridge Boy, you must be at a redneck amusement park.” One of the rides is the Doublewide Twister, another is a rollercoaster named Moonshine Mountain.
Unlike many sitcoms featuring stand-up comics, Bounty Hunters is not a series of set-ups for the stage material. Aside from a reference to “Here's your sign” one “Git'er done.” said by another characters, and one “you might be a redneck” all the gags here are original.
I really hope Bounty Hunters gets the viewership it deserves and sticks around for a while.
