YOU ONLY TURN 25 ONCE!

JUST FOR LAUGHS CELEBRATES ITS 25th ANNIVERSARY WITH

A HOST OF FAMILIAR FACES AND NEW STARS

Montreal, Tuesday, May 1, 2007 - The Just For Laughs Festival presented by Vidéotron is looking back to the past 25 years and looking forward the next 25, as we celebrate our silver anniversary. The party begins July 8 and runs until July 29, with the majority of English shows and outdoor events held from July 12 until July 22. From intimate club shows to edgy cabaret to hilarious short films, this year's Festival will turn the spotlight on the talented men and women who have made Just For Laughs the planet's largest and most prestigious comedy event.

 Just For Laughs Toronto July 26 - 28 2007

We're hosting some of the hottest comedy names on the planet including Howie Mandel, George Lopez, Russell Peters, Eddie Izzard, Billy Connolly, Louis CK. Some of the hottest television shows will be live on-stage including the world premiere of a new show from Kids in the Hall, the cast of Family Guy: Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Mila Kunis, Seth Green and Mike Henry, the cast of How I Met Your Mother: Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan, Josh Radnor, Jason Segal and Cobie Smulders. Many Festival favourites are returning including Tommy Tiernan, John Pinette, Susie Essman, Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood, Dom Irrera, Nick Di Paolo, Dave Attell, André-Phillipe Gagnon, Sinbad, Greg Proops, Lewis Black, Jeremy Hotz, and Andy Kindler. We're also looking to the future of comedy and renewing our programming to reflect what is to come in the entertainment industry. We are creating new shows celebrating the best in sketch and musical comedy, extending the popular Flying Solo Series and alternative club shows, as well as continuing to support upcoming and exciting new talent.

This 25th year also boasts our most prestigious and star-studded line-up of talent from across the pond including UK and Irish comedians Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard, Frank Skinner, Jimmy Carr, Dara O'Briain, Danny Bhoy, Russell Brand, Tommy Tiernan, Richard Herring, Ardal O'Hanlon and many more.

Looking for star power? You'll find plenty of household names as we continue our 25-year tradition of excellence with this year's Vidéotron Just For Laughs Galas. Soak up the laughter as we proudly present seven star-studded shows over five hilarious nights including a very special 25th Anniversary All-Star Gala featuring some of the greatest talent to have graced our stages over the past quarter century including Lewis Black, Tommy Tiernan, Susie Essman, André-Philippe Gagnon and Russell Peters. Looking for a little change of pace? Dragone and Just For Laughs bring together humour, magic and creative genius in the world premiere of a stunning variety gala hosted by the incomparable Arturo Brachetti. Under the artistic direction of Franco Dragone ("O", Rêve, A New Day - Céline Dion) and his team, this exciting gala presents the most spectacular visual performances in the world as well as remarkable cabaret routines you won't soon forget!

The big names continue as we expand our Special Events series to include seven sensational shows. This year's wonderfully diverse series includes solo shows by Scottish comic legend Billy Connolly, master stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard and Canadian superstar Russell Peters, an unforgettable night with improv geniuses Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood, and two unfreakin' believable shows with the cast of Family Guy. Prepare yourself for hysterics as Seth MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Mila Kunis, Seth Green and Mike Henry return to the Festival for a hilarious live reading and Q&A session.

In the spirit of reunions, and to celebrate the 25th Anniversary we've also brought Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson back together again for the world premiere of a special Kids in the Hall show. Fans and newcomers alike will not want to miss this unique opportunity to see the Kids' twisted gift for bringing surreal situations to life.

Another new show is Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Owns Words with the cast of CBS's hit show How I Met Your Mother.  Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan, Josh Radnor, Jason Segal and Cobie Smulders appear onstage together for a hilarious live reading of actual excerpts from celebrity autobiographies. From talking babies to men in dresses, our Special Events series truly has something for everyone.

Want to see even more of your favorite comedians performing longer sets? You're in luck! Our Flying Solo Series returns for an encore engagement after an immensely successful debut in 2006. This spectacular series of ten shows turns the spotlight on edgy performers who are too special for seven-minute sets and too funny for fifteen. This year's awe-inspiring line-up includes new shows from Jimmy Carr, Phil Nichol, Jim Jeffries, Kevin McDonald, Frank Skinner, Paul Provenza, God's Pottery, Zach Galifianakis, Freestyle Love Supreme and TJ & Dave.

Scottish sensation and two-time Festival performer Danny Bhoy is eager to follow in the footsteps of Eddie Izzard and Tommy Tiernan as he performs solo at the Gesù Centre de créativité in The Richard Jeni One-Person Show Series. The hit of the 2005 Fest Danny Bhoy is fast emerging as one of the biggest names on the international comedy scene thanks to his razor sharp wit and his natural gift for storytelling. Just For Laughs will be honouring the late comic Richard Jeni with the dedication of the one-person series in his name.

Turning to theatrics, Just For Laughs is pleased to present Defending The Caveman by Rob Becker. The longest running solo show in Broadway history, Defending the Caveman is a hilarious one-man play that offers insight into the male mystique and contemporary feminism. Now in its 16th year, this comedic tour de force has won the hearts of millions in over 30 countries and in more than 15 different languages.

Also on tap is what could possibly be the funniest show to hit North America since Monty Python. Spymonkey's Cooped is a deliciously demented pulp gothic romance written and performed by celebrated British comedy troupe Spymonkey. Combining hilarious sight gags, puns and even a nude pastoral dance, Spymonkey's Cooped tells the story of a swinging orphan sent to a spooky manor. Toss in a murder, a passionate love triangle and an utterly insane butler and you have a sidesplitting 90-minute joyride that will have you laughing long after the final curtain closes. The talented quartet have performed thousands of shows together, including a successful two year run as part of Zumanity - Another Side of Cirque du Soleil at the New York-New York Hotel Casino in Las Vegas.

Throughout the Festival, a stand-up collection of comedy stars will perform as part of our trademark Club Series. This year's program features over 80 chances to see 18 gut-busting shows at 7 different venues. Some of the Festival favourites are moving to new venues. Get ready for night after night of gut-busting performances with club stars like Andy Kindler, Louis CK, Dave Attell, Dom Irrera, Sinbad, Jon Dore, Stephen K Amos, Nick DiPaolo, Bill Burr, Tom Papa, Alonzo Bodden, Greg Proops and many more. Also keep your eyes peeled for brand spanking new shows: The Line-Up, which celebrates the planet's finest sketch comedy, Tune In, where music and comedy unite and State of the Fest with Andy Kindler and the hottest buzz worthy comics at the Festival.

The wonderment continues as we welcome back La Clique. A runaway success at the 2006 Festival, La Clique artfully combines the traditions of vaudeville and music hall with Berliner Kabarett. The result? The sexiest, funniest, wettest and wildest acts you'll ever see! La Clique is over your head, under your skin and below the belt.
