Fart Safari 2: Fart Harder is the stupidest comedy album title I have come across in the last five or so years if not more. It is also false representation. Doug Mellard is a much better comic than the title of this comedy download suggests.
Doug Mellard’s stand-up material though not groundbreaking is original. Mellard also has a bit of an absurd, surrealistic take on things or ideas that make this album a lot of fun to listen to. For example, his airplane routine is interesting because of what he says he does during the flight and of what he reacted in a crisis.
Particularly good on Fart Safari 2: Fart Harder is the funeral bit where Mellard has a few ideas to make the event a lot funnier and interesting.
This comedy download album’s title is somewhat appropriate if you take into consideration the bits featuring dick jokes, fart jokes, and poop jokes but they are not the center of this album and they are not raunchy or dumb enough to live up to this album’s title. There are a couple of particularly explicit bits but they are smarter than what the title leads you to believe.
Doug Mellard does end his set with a very adult and explicit routine about his parents having sex. It is
funny and original but a bit jarring considering the tone of the evening.
Do I recommend this stand-up comedy download album? Yes. It’s just I hate the title.
