I am Pro Joyce and so should you. Pro Joyce is an excellent stand-up comedy CD by a very good comic. This is a series of short, funny, sometimes adult language bits. Joyce does autobiographical and observational comedy. His patter is lightning speed so that takes a bit of getting used to. There is not one weak moment on this CD and that does not happen often.
The tracks on this comedy CD are more numerous than the bits themselves, a strange choice that works anyways. The first few are about Joyce being a recovering alcoholic. It works in part because it is mostly about how other people react to that. The bit closes with a very funny surreal Halloween fight between a box of tissues and a Black Gilligan. This is a routine I wish was expanded a bit.
Another longer routine is relationship comedy. Joyce is very good and so is this material but there is not much new here.
Pro-Joyce is solid all the way through but I do have a couple of personal favorites.
Tunnel Traffic is one of the best moments on this comedy CD. Jeffe Joyce explains how he got trapped in a traffic jam he caused a few minutes ago and ahead of him. The West Virginia two truck driver bit is also great.
Pro Joyce closes a bit weak relatively speaking and a bit abruptly with a quitting smoking routine.
