Blue Collar Comedy
Live From Las Vegas
Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall
Starlight Home Entertainment
2005
70 minutes

If you can milk the success of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour more than Live From Las Vegas on DVD I really do not want to see the result as this time it consists in releasing 6 year old shows.. Although Larry the Cable Guy does not appear on this comedy DVD, you get reruns of sets by Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy, and Bill Engvall.

What could have been fresh six years ago now means that out of some 70 minutes, there is probably no more than 2 original minutes of material from each comic.

White opens his set with his oldest bit, Naked Eating Cheetos, discusses his luck in Las Vegas -the only really new material in this set, and then segues into his early material about his son and marrying a rich woman.

Jeff Foxworthy is next, again with some old stuff like the Male Box, A Glorious Absence of Sophistication, the hamster story, the things he still does not know, and jokes about his marriage. Of course, he closes with a few you might be a redneck jokes. If you buy this Dvd, you might be a redneck.

In what seems to be a totally different show on a different night, Bill Engvall closes Live in Las Vegas and, again, there is nothing very new about any of the funny stuff here. Jokes about his teenage daughter, the camping and crocodile bits, his take on fashion and, some biographical humor about his family.

“Did you rent this Dvd?”
“No, I bought it.”
“Here’s your sign.”

To add insult to injury, the camera work here is shoddy to the point the camera guy cannot follow the comic sometimes and you get the same shot of the same members of the audience (and some are not laughing). The sound is atrocious, the level is unbalanced from stand-up comic to comic and you have to continually adjust it during a set, especially Ron White’s.
