Mental Fornication is Steve Sabo’s latest (2011) stand-up comedy CD.

If you like smart, adult audience humor this guy delivers. Having liked his previous release, A Mouthful of Sea-Monkeys I was very much looking forward to this one. Mental Fornication is good but for some reason I was not as impressed as last time. Here’s the rub: I have no idea why and I am probably wrong.

Sabo is a short routine comic. Especially good here are the bits about girl scout cookie sales being down, weird lyrics by Prince, road signs and hitchhikers, laser eye surgery odds, and having a lover who is more experienced than you are (I really liked how Sabo recuperates the audience reactions on this one), and a girl wearing your shirt the next morning.

A personal favorite is Sabo’s longer bit about taking his underage sister hearing a dick joke at a comedy club. I also liked the stand-up bit about who to pick a fight with if you are ever in a barroom brawl.

There are a few rather generic bits about airline seats, kids with cell phones, and relationships. They are few and far between so what the hell.

Steve Sabo Mental Fornication is also available as a DVD.
