Tom Papa changes his game a bit in Freaked Out, currently available as a stand-up comedy MP3 album or streaming video.

The family friendly and clean stand-up is a bit more of a social critic and this also changes the language he uses a bit. I like the change.

Freaked Out starts off a little bit strangely with a bit about Chinatown and the weird stuff in the stores. The set  really starts with 21st Century where Papa states it is a great time to be alive even if we are constantly bombarded with bad news. He follows with a great take on the Occupy movement and why it failed –nobody wants to be associated with the rest of the 99 percent. He also skewers us a bit with how we complain about everything.

Tom Papa then sets on more familiar ground with routines about his kids and about being a father. You would think this has been done to death by most comics and already covered by this stand-up by the has more stuff and it is as funny as ever.

The show closes strong with a story about taking his daughter to church on Sunday.

I can always count on Tom Papa for a good performance.
