The 3-disc set for Horrible Bosses offers four different viewing options: Blu-ray, Blu-ray Extended Version, DVD, and Ultraviolet Digital Copy. None make this film worth watching. This is a ninety-something minute Blu-ray comedy with a forty-five minute set-up. The movie is a bit longer if you watch the unrated version.
This comedy fails miserably not only because it wastes half its time getting started. There is also the problem that none of the three horrible bosses are even close to plausible and more than a caricature written in crayon. As the movie slowly progresses, you keep getting the feeling it was filmed in a linear fashion by a really bad improv sketch group whose members each misunderstood the premise differently. It also features nails-on-a-chalkboard voiced Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia) whose talent is long as the name Day is.
Horrible Bosses features a you would think solid supporting cast with Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Anniston as two of the bad bosses and the incredibly overrated Colin Farrell as the other. Jamie Foxx has a cameo as a thug the boys hire for the hit.
This comedy is painful to watch from beginning to end. The one redeeming feature may be Jennifer Aniston as the sex fiend boss. She deserves an Oscar for convincing anyone her character is hot for Charlie Day.
