Believe it or not there is a Super Troopers 2 coming out in 2010. Meanwhile, the original Broken Lizard comedy is available on Blu-ray and really makes use of this format. While other recent Blu-ray comedy releases are just reissues, Super Troopers features a picture-in-picture commentary and a multiple choice commentary-trivia game you can play during the movie and that keeps score for you (you are, after all, drinking).
Super Troopers is a good lowbrow comedy that does not really insult your intelligence although it questions it. Somewhere in the story there is a territorial competition between the State Troopers and the local PD and if the troopers do not shape up their office will close. There is also one of the troopers who has a crush on the very cute local cop, a murder investigation, drug smuggling, and various college style shenanigans.
This comedy also features some quite adult content where one character bares all and another bears all.
Lowbrow comedy is a matter of taste but this one has to be one of the better ones around.
Look for comic Jim Gaffigan as one of the people the super troopers pull over. Wonder Woman Linda Carter plays the Vermont Governor.
One of the options on Super Troopers Blu-ray is the Drinking Game. It is is a fun multiple choice trivia game that unfortunately does not allow you to fast forward, cut to the next scene, or even pause the comedy to drain the Broken Lizard.
Other special features include 2 different commentary tracks, a PIP commentary feature, and outtakes and extended scenes.
