The League is an atrocious FX sitcom. Getting the 6 episode Blu-ray disc for The League The Complete First Season and having watched a couple, I more than obviously thought this was a show that had been cancelled aka put out of its misery aka pulled before it could do any more ratings damage aka sent to that great test pattern in the sky. This really bad situation comedy is coming back for another year. The Blu-ray features the original and the extended version of the episodes. Uncle!!!!!!!

The premise of this sitcom is six guys are together in a rotisserie football league. They are all connected somehow and kind of friends. Supposedly the dialogue for The League is only partially scripted, leaving room for improve. That is not biggest problem in The League.

The biggest of many problems for this show is not only are the men bad caricatures of TV guys, they are also immensely unlikeable.

The only bright light in this situation comedy is Jon Lajoie who plays a semi stoned singer songwriter named Taco. Taco is the brother-in-law of one of the guys.  Taco’s songs are outrageous and always inappropriate.

One show has its moments, Mr. McGibblets.

Special features on The League Blu-ray are Blooper Reel; Deleted Scenes; Alt Nation; Three Penis Wine Infomercial; Vaginal Hubris Extended; Birthday Song; Legalize Kevin’s Pubic Smoke; Mr. McGibblets Fun House and Dojo; Andre: Dress with Style, Win with Style; Bonus Feature from FX: “Archer” Pilot Episode
