Woody by Alex Wood is a fun independent release stand-up comedy download.
Wood is a biographical comic and this album focuses on his quitting everything from drugs to sugar. Trigger warning, there is a bit about having been molested.
It is hard not to like this comic and his material so the overall experience is satisfying.
The recording itself could have benefited from a more focused structured. For example, a promising routine on answering questions about having been molested ends abruptly with some crowd work.
Another, I think, missed opportunity is the bit about going to AA meetings. There is only really one joke in the segment when the premise is so tempting.
The longest and best segment is the one about taking too much MDMA.
I would certainly buy a ticket to see Alex Wood.
